The article of research is the state of production and use of basic types of biofuel in the world and to Ukraine, mechanism of their adjusting. Purpose of work. Is conducting of scientific complex comparative analysis of expedience and economic efficiency of speed-up development of production of biofuel in the context of food and power safety of Ukraine. Research methods: dialectical, analytical, balance, graphic, abstractly logical, expert estimations, factor analysis, analysis and synthesis, calculation-structural, monographic. The basic results. The dynamics of production of basic types of biofuel is considered in the world: in particular in the countries of ES and in the USA, Brazil. The mechanism of his adjusting is studied at the level of the separate states and in the scales of their concord. The normative base of production of biofuel is probed legislatively in Ukraine, as a result of analysis found out failings and directions of improvement are formed. An analysis is executed of volumes of demand and supply on the markets of basic types of biofuel and agricultural cultures, which are raw material for a production a biodizel and bioetanol (corn cereals, corn, seed of rape, seed of sunflower, sugar beet, and also products related to this production - sugar). The volumes of agricultural cultures which will be utillized for satisfaction of food necessities and requirements in the alternative types of fuel in Ukraine are certain. The optimum border of economic efficiency of processing of corn and technical cultures is grounded in a biofuel. The comparative analysis of financial viability of the use of corn cultures and sugar beet is conducted for the production of bioetanol, oil-bearing cultures - for the production of biodizel. Certainly optimum rates of development of biofuel in the context of food and power safety.
