Purpose of this paper is to research etymology of agrarian terms, to analyse the system and semantic phenomena in this terminosisteme, to define the productive word building models of agrarian terms. A method of etymologic analysis; analytical and descriptive methods; method of interpretative analysis of dictionary definition; method of comparison are research methods. The conducted research enables to assert that consciously to influence consciously the subsequent development of Ukrainian agrarian terminology, to carry out the final encoding is possible only in that case, when we have a clear idea of origin, lexical, semantic and word building structure of certain terminology as basic conformities to law of the research system become clear. The results of the research paper can be used in lexicographic practice, in development of scientific courses from terminology, and also in training of future agrarian specialists.
