M.I.Sitenko popup.description2 Object: the structural changes in the adjacent spine segments in animals and humans under conditions of introduction of metal nails into the vertebral body and grafts into the interbody vertebral space. Aim: to investigate the effects of fixing devices and interbody vertebral grafts on strained-deformed state of spine segments, structural organization and mechanical properties of adjacent spine segments on the base of mathematical modeling and animal experiments. Methods: mathematical modeling, experimental, morphological, biomechanical. Results: on the base of mathematical modeling the boundary values of length and orientation angle of screws spine device in which the probability of bone destruction in the introduction area increased was identified. Optimal material and design of implant for human's interbody fusion were grounded. During experiments on rats and rabbits it was established that pathological changes of adjacent intervertebral discs are progressing at implant position in vertebra apophysis. Implantation of ceramic, titanium and carbon grafts into the interbody space leads to destructive changes in all components of adjacent spine segments after 3 months. Structural abnormalities prevalent in the caudal segments at introduction of carbon implants. When titanium braces in aggregate ceramic implants were used adjacent spine segments were characterized by low intensive injuries and higher strength than titanium braces in aggregate carbon implants were used.
