Purpose - on the basis of experimental and theoretical studies of internal friction processes of frictional contact to develop scientific basis for improving the durability of tribosystems by means of establishment and use of effective methods of dynamic tension reduction of the pair friction material. Non-elastic properties of the materials were studied by means of resonant core techniques and pendulum triborelaxator in connection with which the original settings were developed and improved. On the basis of complex research of processes one-directed friction, slidingand fretting corrosion there were established universal regularities of surface wearability ensuring in connection with manifestation of rheological relaxational processes regardless of friction. Regularities of the contact damping properties manifestation in the early stages of dynamic interaction were found: in the procedure of previous shift and slipping. Interaction of steels contact strength with manifestations of internal friction was established: relaxational, histerezis, mikroplastic depending on temperature and speed loading conditions of friction, the original structure. Physical and mechanical model of frictional contact was developed. Ways of ensuring durability under consideration of inelastic phenomena contributing to the reduction of surface layers dynamic tension were settled and effectiveness of technological methods for surface treatment of metals were revealed. Leading protective and damaging processes of mechanical relaxation during friction responsible for supplied mechanical energy dissipation were studied. Regularities of of mechanical energy scattering in condition of reversive previous shift were identified. It is established that non-monotonic nature of temperature and velocity dependencies of friction force and wearabilityof tribosystems is determined by substructural changes caused by dynamic deformational steel aging, as well as bychanges in the level of relaxational and histerezis internal friction in triboelements. Rheological phenomena increasing steel resistance to destruction by means of some technological methods of surface treatmentwere shown. Thermal spraying with combined composite powder fusion containing damping component increases coating wear resistance in 1.65 times compared with basic ПГ-С-4. Diamond smoothing increases the endurance limit of steel by 40 - 45 %.After split-jet processing fretting-fatigue durability of steels is growing by 7 - 15 times and restricted endurance limit by 2 times. Sphere of applications: machine-building, construction and improvement of the machine friction units, machinery, technological equipment.
