Compositional dependences of surface phonon frequencies in CdS1-xSex nanocrystals are obtained. Formation of selenium clusters as an alternative to the growth of CdSe-type nanocrystals in borosilicate glass is shown. Raman scattering in colloidal CdSe and CdS nanocrystals embedded in organic polymer (gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylamide) as well as in CdSe/HgSe and CdSe/Ag2Se core/shell nanostructures is studied.
