Conditions and temperature modes of moisture distillation, providing minimal charge oxidation, were found. Method for melt filtration was developed. Conditions for SrІ2 crystal growth by Chohralskiy method were studied. Axial distribution of activator was assessed. More than 10 crystals from 7 to 30 mm diameter were obtained and their optical and scintillation properties were studied.
