Ag-Cu system based alloys with a wide concentration ranges (alloed with other chemical elements), chosen as an alternative to cadmium-containing filler alloys for brazing hard-alloy tools, were studied. Structure and chemical heterogeneity experimental alloys of the above system, as well as of the brazed joints on diamond--hard-alloy cutters (DHAC) were investigated. Mechanical properties, including wear resistanse of DHAC were evaluated. The technology for manufacture of the drill bits and calibrators, developed by the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute, was applied at the A. F. Zasyadko Mine (Donetsk) for subsurface drilling of degassing wells. The mean value of digging was 1700 running meters, and the mean rate of drilling was 4,1 m/h (before the value of diggins was 80--120 running meters).
