Aim: To determine regularities of mental and behavioral disorders, diseases of nervous system, cerebrovascular pathology in the Chernobyl clean-up workers with regard to radiation and nonradiation factors; to improve diagnostics and registration of the above disorders in survivors' registry system. Methods: clinical, epidemiological, medical-and-statistical. Results. Based on the data of clinical examination of 390 clean-up workers enlisted in CER, expertise and verification of mental and behavioral disorders, cerebrovascular pathology, diseases of nervous system were done. As little as 11 % of the contingent was free of psychopathology. Organic mental disorders were predominant (85.9 %) within this pathology structure. Cases of cerebrovascular pathology were diagnosed in 65.4 % of examined men. Risk factors for alcohol addiction syndrome among clean-up workers were found. Those were hereditary load, primary mental, psychosomatic and somatoneurologic diseases as well as radiation factor.According to cohort epidemiological study on the data of SRU (68145 persons) and CER (3483 persons), the decrease of mental and increase of cerebrovascular morbidity were observed within 1988-2007. Statistically significant risks for the development of cerebrovascular pathology, neurotic disorders, and diseases of vegetative nervous system were proved at doses 0.25 Gy and more. Those risks for the abovementioned diseases were also dependent on nonradiation factors (age, diseases, unfavorable labor conditions, mental stress; smoking, abuse alcohol consumption, salty food overconsumption, improper physical activity). Implementation: method recommendations and patent application were prepared, 49 scientific works were published, reports on implementation into CER system were obtained. Fields of application: radiation medicine, epidemiology, hygiene, public health. Product Description popup.authors Антипчук К.Ю. Бомко М.О. Василенко З.Л. Гасанов А.А. Гресько М.В. Денисюк Н.В.
