It is proved, that gas-diffusion electrodes of such systems should base on materials with low catalytic activity, i.e. without generalpurpose catalysts with noble metals. Use of porous titanium for such electrodes for the first time is offered. Demands and a technique of sampling of convertible redox-system of electrolyte which acts homogeneous mediator oxidation-reduction act of determined gas on electrode are developed. For the first time it is created gas-diffusion electrode for selective determination oxygen-containing oxidative gases against a background of atmospheric oxygen. It is shown, that for gases with feebly marked oxidation-reduction properties development of selective homogeneous catalysis is inexpedient the same as also attempts of development of consumed working electrodes. It proved, that heterogeneous mediator catalysis eliminates the technical contradiction between necessity to extend endurance of working electrode increase in load of account material and the decrease of polarizability of electrode concerned to it, i.e. decrease of its sensitivity and quick-action. For the first time it is offered for gases with acid properties to apply heterophasic system "atmospheric oxygen - aqueous electrolyte - non-stoichiometrical oxide of transition metal " as heterogeneous mediator which catalyses current-generating reaction with participation of determined gas.
