Object of research - theoretical bases and methodical bases of economic activities of the enterprises of sea transport. The work purpose - is working out of essentially new teoretiko-practical bases and methodical approaches of economic activities of the port enterprises and the navigable companies of Ukraine taking into account tendencies of development of the markets of transport services. Research receptions - the analysis-synthesis of results and a retrospective show, scientific abstraction, the system analysis, in particular decomposition, an expert estimation. Changes which are observed throughout last decade in economy of Ukraine, actively influence development of sea transport of Ukraine. These changes in much cause necessity of formation and improvement of a control system by economic activities of transport agencies in the conditions of competitive struggle at national and international levels. All it causes necessity of working out and a scientific substantiation of methodical bases of functioning of sea transport of Ukraine for modern conditions. In research work features of functioning and the basic directions of development of the navigable companies, sea trading ports and other enterprises of sea transport of Ukraine, economic problems of functioning of the enterprises of area and a way of their decision, a question of functioning and development of the enterprises and the organisations of an external environment, the external economic problems of development of a national economy of Ukraine which influence activity of sea transport are considered.
