Two types of contradictive notions concerning the profession segments were defined: the institutional and the discursive. The following method techniques for research of prestige phenomena were proposed. The International Scale of Occupational Prestige corresponding to the international criteria was standardized for Ukraine. The monitoring of level and main factors of occupational prestige on the basis of all-Ukrainian representative surveys and qualitative research methods was provided. The age and regional differences were identified. The dynamics of weight of main factors of occupational prestige during 2008-2009 different for adults and senior pupils was fixed. Three information booklets which cover the survey results were prepared. The program of profession-oriented course for Ukrainian job and career experts was developed.
