Acetylcholine and sodium nitroprusside induced vaso-dilating reactions that are realized via NO participation were more pronounced in LR rats than in HR individuals. There was no differences in norepinephrine-induced endothelium-independent vaso-constrictor reactions as well as in the contractile function of isolated heart in both groups of animals. The determination of hepatic enzymes activitities has shown markedly higher level of microsomal oxidation in HR as against LR rats, whereas glutathione reductase activity was higher in LR in comparison with HR animals. Physical endurance was all the more bigger than the corresponding resistance to hypoxia both in adults and old rats. The study of behavioural reactions under dangerous situation revealed that LR animals as compared to HR individuals displayed clearly more expressed anxiety, fear and reaching of decision derangement, The young LR animals demonstrated better capacity for learning against HR rats, whereas the stability of spatial memory track was invariable both in LR and HR groups and under aging. The investigation of survival has shown that life-span (both middle and maximal) in the group of HR rats is substantially higher than in LR group, but the rate of extinction in the early stages of ontogenesis is identical in both groups and increases under senescence more markedly in the animals of LR group as compared to HR group, which gives evidence that the rats of HR group present the subpopulation of long-livers individuals.
