New electrodes of the improved quality, grades ANV-65U, ANV-17U and ANV-70B, were developed for the basic types of steels and alloys used in the above industry. Welding-operational properties of the above electrodes were upgraded: arc stability and weld formation in overhead and upward positions. Required materials were purchased, and the commercial technology for manufacture of new electrodes of the above grades was optimized at the Pilot Plant for Welding Consumables of the E.O.Paton Electric Welding Institute. The new electrodes were tested and applied at a number of Ukrainian enterprises, such as Open Joint Stock Company "Sumykhimprom" (Sumy), Open Joint Stock Company "KHIMMASH" (Korosten), Research and Production Enterprise "Lota" (Kyiv), Open Joint Stock Company "UkrNIIKhimmash" and Open Joint Stock Company "Odessa Port Plant", (Odessa), for manufacture and repair of equipment made from steels of the type of Kh18N10T, Kh17N13M3 and St3sp+08Kh13.
