Methods of investigation: clinical, molecular-genetic, medico-genetic, functional, visual diagnostics. The high level of general morbidity was revealed in asbestos-cement industry workers, the part of healthy workers is only 8,8±1,7 %. The most prevalent among respiratory diseases in examined workers are chronic bronchitis - 12,4±3,2 %, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - 2,4±1,5 %. Suspicion for asbestosis was revealed in 11,9±5,0 % exposed workers. The author concludes that high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) is a more effective method for parenchymal and pleural pathology diagnostics in comparison with chest X-ray. Molecular-genetic markers of hereditary predisposition to pneumosclerosis and cronic non spesific lung diseases in workers exposed to chrysotile asbestos have been determinated.
