Objective of study - improvement of the scientific methods of standing volume assessment of overmature pine stands in forest of settlements and green zones. Methods of research - the study is based on the methods of scientific knowledge focused on the wide application of modern computer technologies. Collection and processing of initial information carried out on the basis of a systematic approach which combines methods of forest mensuration, mathematical statistics, including correlation and regression analysis and mathematical modeling. Theoretical and practical results - as a results of the investigations parameters of the mathematical models of stem form factors and assortment structure of their volume are derived, the peculiarities of tree stem distribution in investigated categories of forest stands determined. On the basis of the established relationships, new standards of volume, assortment structure and marketability of overmature pine stands in forest of settlements and green zones are compiled. Scientific novelty of the results - the reference data for standing volume assessment of overmature pine stands in forest of settlements and green zones have been improved, which in contrast to the actual takes into account the morphometric characteristics of the trees. Effectiveness of the implementation of research results - developed standards help to improve the scientific and methodical level of standing volume assessment of overmature pine stands in forests of settlements and green zones. Scope of use - production activities of forest enterprises, institutions and organizations involved in the maintenance of urban forests, and the system of forest inventory.
