The authors made an attempt to find out the ways and methods of the formation of economic terms which give a possibility to present their formation coherently both in diachrony and synchronistic aspects. During the research the sources fixing special vocabulary are critically analyzed, positive and negative language tendencies affecting the process of economic terms formation, linguistic and cultural aspects of certain names in commerce are specified. Multiple-aspect research of lexis of special purpose is non-stochastic: it indicates complexity and diversity of the language material itself, and processes occurring in the sphere under research. Because certain names of special vocabulary have not been studied in Ukrainian linguistics in corpora with the account of the renewed conceptual apparatus, the research suggested by the authors makes premises for the solution different theoretical and practical questions important for the construction of Ukrainian economic terms in catering and commerce.
