Results and its novelty: On the basic of development of theory kinetic- activation processes of polymers chemical bonds in order to take into consideration the joint action of different mechanisms (electrical, electro-chemical, ionizing and mechanical ones) on ageing processes of crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation of super-high voltage cables (SHVC) it was proved the necessity to use two approaches: determinate one, using the local threshold intensity of electrical field (EF) and quantum- statistical one, using the determination of local intensive volumes (i. e. volumes having the intensity of electrical field more then allowable value). For study of high-frequency processes during the tests of XLPE insulation of SHVC on partial discharge level using Matlab/Simulink/SimPowerSystems application package the high-frequency model for test device with cable considered as electrical circuit with distributed parameters is developed. A new criterion of quality assessment for technology of extrusion laying of XLPE insulation and conducting shielding layers is developed. It is based on assessment of aggregate influence of micro-defects and external actions on increasing of local intensities of EF, intensive volume and temperature in XLPE insulation. The dependence of insulation life from local intensity of EF is assessed by expression ? = A E-m (where ? - insulation life, Е - value of intensity of EF, values А and m are empirical coefficients).
