It was established, that in the view of reducing mid-annual greenhouse gas emissions the most effective way is to introduce the following actions: substitution of open-hearth steel for oxygen-converter steel - more than 350 kg СО2/t of steel; modernization of oxygen blocks - nearly 285 kg СО2/thousand м3; introduction of continuous casting machines - more than 275 kg СО2/t; development and introduction of equipment and technology for blowing coal-dust fuel into blast-furnace hearth - 120 kg СО2/t. It was established, that parameters of specific energy consumption for these energy-saving actions smaller than middle-sectoral parameters, efficiency of introducing the proposed actions is shown. At present 2 actions are registered in the National Agency of Environmental Investments of Ukraine as Joint Implementation Projects (JIP), another 21 actions, which are being introduced, are at different stages of registration as JIP. Total reduction of greenhouse gas emissions due to introduction of energy-saving actions, which are currently being realized as JIP, make 23 million tons of CO2- equivalent.
