Establishment of mechanisms of formation of nanocomposite structures in amorphous Al-based alloys and their mechanical properties. X-ray analysis, electron microscopy, measurements of electrical resistance and microhardness, calorimetry. The experimental studies of nanocrystallization in a number of amorphous Al-(Ni,Co)-(Y,Gd,Tb) alloys were performed and the analytical models were developed. The mechanisms of nanocrystallization and kinetic parameters of the process were determined. It has been for the first time established that thermal stability of amorphous phases is determined by the effective diffusion coefficient governing the diffusion-limited growth of Al nanocrystals. It was shown that the Al87Ni8Y5 and Al87Ni8Gd5 alloys are the most attractive candidates for obtaining of bulk samples with nanocomposite structure. Engineering industry.
