The work purpose - definition of theoretical laws which describe relationship between vibrations of the steelmaking ladle surface and characteristics of argon purging process and conditions of electric arcs during a ladle treatment of steel at a ladle furnace; development of algorithm to control purging process on the base of data about vibration of the ladle surface. Technique and equipments - the investigations were carried out with special laboratory models for "cold modeling" of inert gas purging process at steelmaking ladles and at laboratory model of electric arc furnace. Results of the research - recommendations for development of system of inert gas purging process control on the base of vibroacoustic data registered on the surface of steelmaking ladle during ladle treatment at a ladle furnace. Connection between vibroacoustic data registered on the surface of a vessel during purging and conditions of gas outflow via tuyere into volume of liquid bath was demonstrated and investigated. Informative ranges of frequencies in a spectrum of registered signal were defined. The first informative range 0-100 Hz, the second is in a range 2-4 kHz. It is proved that on the basis of the analysis of the vibroacoustic signal spectrum it is possible to get the information about primary size of inert gas bubbles and determine a transition of gas outflow conditions into a liquid bath from "bubble outflow" to "stream outflow". This is important to arrangement of conditions favorable for nonmetallic inclusions removal by flotation during ladle treatment. Influence of surface tension of liquid on the spectrum of vibroacoustic signal was investigated and character of this dependence was estimated on a water model. It was demonstrated that amplitude of natural resonance oscillations of gas bubbles change during progress of flotation process and that brings adequate changes in the amplitude-frequency characteristic of a signal in the informative range of frequency. Influence of conditions of electric arcs (open or submerged arcs) on the characteristics of vibroacoustic signals registered on the surface of a vessel was investigated and adequate changes in signal were explored. Interrelation with other works - the research work continues investigations in the field of development of new technologies for secondary steelmaking conducted in DNTU before.
