Ovcharenko Institute of biocolloidal Chemistry NAS of Ukraine popup.description2 A new method of gold and silver bimetallic nanoparticles (BMNP) synthesis in porous transparent zol-gel silica films by the combination of UV-irradiation of precursors and following thermal treatment at 5000C was developed. The method allows regulating BMNP structure from alloys to core-shell type, to get uniform particle size as well as uniform particle distribution into colloids or films of metal oxides. Porous zol-gel silica, containing BMNP, has proper perspective in their use as a biosensor and materials for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy. A new method of silica based supramolecular sorbent synthesis and supramolecular metal complexes formation on its surface has been developed. Synthesis simplicity, high sorption ability, and easy metal elution open the perspective of their use for man-caused and natural water purification as well as for elemental analysis. By joint efforts of IBCC NAS, Taras Shevchenko KSU, and National enterprise "Північгеологія", the standard nanostructured samples of noble metals (Ag, Au, Pd, Pt) for radiometric analysis of Ukrainian ores were produced. A new nanostructured materials based on microorganisms and silver nanoparticles (1,5 - 2,5 nm) stabilized in biotemplates were synthesized. Lyophilized biocomposite preparations maintained long-time stability. Preparations were characterized by enhanced microbocide activity which correlated with disperse and surface characteristics of nanoparticles. These indices, in their turn, depended on biotemplate nature and reducing agent composition. Accessibility and repeatability of microorganisms matrix, high biological activity, soft and durable action opens a prospect the biocomposite use as a bactericide and antiseptic materials for hygiene and sanitation, as a component of cosmetic and medicine mixtures, for modification of filter elements, packaging and coatings, for water purification. Efficient microbiological (heterotrophic) method of heavy metals extraction in a form of nanosized hydroxycarbonates and oxycarboxylic complexes from sediments accumulated after domestic wastewater treatment process was developed. New approaches to a formation of artificial soils based on hydrogel with immobilized microfertilizers were proposed. A new mechanism of weak electric field influence on microorganisms caused by nonlinear resonance tunneling of electrons in the membrane located respiratory centers (quantum wells) was estimated.
