Mechnikov National University popup.description2 New data concerning biological diversity, structure, function and dynamics of ecosystem on the margin of Black Sea deep-water area were obtained; new data on geochemical, mineralogical and micropaleontological composition of deposits of continental slope and north-western shelf of Black Sea were received. High-intensity gas volcanoes on continental slope and north-western shelf of Black Sea were plotted on the map. On the basis of generalization of lithologyical, neotectonic, geochemical, mineralogical and other data series natural factors supervising Black Sea ecosystem, its biodiversity and ecosystem 'hot points' function are determined. New vision of deep-water Black Sea ecosystem is elaborated in frames of which it is regarded as unity combining geospheric, biospheric and hydrospheric components of pan-European level.
