Aim of the work: working-out the methods and algorithms of determination of the fire hazard of underground objects and material mining equipment with regard for probability of origin of the fire provided that the combustible environment and ignition source come into existence to estimate the possibility of influence of hazardous factors of the fire on the mine workers. Method of investigation: comprehensive approach that contains analysis and generalization of the fire hazard investigations fulfilled earlier; system analysis of the cause-and-effect relationship between the factors that favour origin of the combustible environment, heat ignition sources and underground fire; methods of the probability theory and mathematical statistics. It is proposed for the first time to estimate the fire safety level of the underground objects by means of the calculated individual risk with regard for probability of origin of the underground fire, presence of the mine workers in the object and probability of their evacuation from the hazardous zone, efficiency of the fire protection means. To solve the questions of admittance of the equipment into operation under underground conditions of the coal mines its classification is worked out. By results of the investigations fulfilled the branch standard СОУ is worked out which is agreed by the State mining inspection (Gosgortechnadzor), approved by the order of the Ministry of coal industry (Minugleprom) and registered by the State consumer standard (Gospotrebstandard) of the Ukraine. This standard is applied by the enterprises and organizations which are part of the management sphere of the Ministry of coal industry of the Ukraine or which are corporately managed by the Ministry of coal industry of the Ukraine.
