Object of research - Hutsulian horse breed. Purpose of research - the formation of Hutsulian horse breed array, the improvement of its economic, work and pedigree qualities. Method of research - the determination of immunogenetic markers of blood groups conducted by the method of R.M. Dubrovska; the evaluation of typical horse livestock is conducted by the following features: origin, measurements, exterior. Genealogical structure of the herd was determined by analyzing pedigree and zoological records. Breed reproducers for Hutsulian horse breed were created at "Zarichchya" farm (Rozhniv, Kosiv region) and at "Varto" Ltd. (Snyatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast). The results of testing of Hutsulian breed horses of different sex-age groups confirm their high pedigree status. The use of foreign stallions of Gurgula and Ousora lines of Czech and Poland selections as well as local stallions helps detect typical phenotypical and genotypical features of their descendants, it also helps avoid inbred depression that is common in Hutsulian horse breeding. The implementation of International projects has significantly assisted in solving the problems of preservation and revival of Hutsulian horse breed in Carpathian region of Ukraine. The increase of selective work level in individual sector Hutsulian horse breeding and attraction of valuable breeding material into the selection process is important for breed gene pool preservation and reproduction and also for forming Ukrainian breeding resources export potential.
