Vernadsky University popup.description2 Research purpose is synthesis of multilayer thin-film structures of one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystals (1D-MPC) for the subsequent creation of magneto-optical devices on their basis. Multilayered thin film structures for 1D-MPC and the 1D-MPC with single and binary magneto-optic layers were fabricated by ion-beam reactive sputtering (vacuum coater УРМ 3.279.014, furnace СНВС-4,5 with heat controller РИФ 101). The structure consists of the gadolinium gallium garnet substrate, dielectric layers (SiO2 and TiO2), magneto-optical layers (bismuth-substituted yttrium iron garnet). Magneto-optical layers are single-crystal, specific Faraday rotation is 3.5 to 5.5 grad./mcm at a wavelength of 655 nm, coercivity is 13.6 to 22.2 kA/m, the Curie temperature is greater than 150 grad. C (for films with different contents of bismuth). Specific Faraday rotation of different types 1D-MPC at resonant wavelengths in the visible and near infrared spectral ranges is minus 22.2 to minus 26.4 grad./mcm, which corresponds to world standards.
