Objective - development of a method for treating male infertility with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus with N-stearoiletanolamine (NSE). Research Methods - biochemical, statistical. On the model of streptozotocine-induced diabetes type I in rats (glucose level in blood of animals 9 mmol / l) was showed that early stages of development of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus accompanied with the major decrease of activity of antioxidant enzymes - superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase in blood plasma and in the testes of experimental animals, and also the increase of nitrite and nitrate anions content in plasma and nitrite anion content in the testes of animals with diabetes. A significant reduction of both general and individual phospholipids in the testes of rats was observed. Also it was shown the increase of saturated fatty acids, particularly palmitic, capronic, tridecanoic acids and reduction of unsaturated (dienes and polyunsaturated) fatty acids in the phospholipid composition and in the pool of free fatty acids of the testis. The results are the evidence of the initiation of destructive changes in the testes of rats caused by the development of diabetes, which may later lead to a weakening of the functions of these organs and lead to male infertility. The N-stearoylethanolamine administration to animals in a dose of 50 mg / kg body weight during 10 days at the early stages of diabetes caused the recovery of pro-antioxidant balance and normalization of the nitric oxide stable metabolites, reduced the level of lipid peroxidation in plasma and testis, restoring phospholipid content in the gonads animals. Application of NSE caused normalization of the fatty acid composition of the pool of free fatty acids, restoring the contents of individual dienes and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the phospholipids of testicles. Because the overproduction of nitric oxide, activation of LPO processes at the background of decreased activity of antioxidant systems, plays the important role in the pathogenesis of type I diabetes and its complications development not only in pancreatic tissue, but also in many other body systems including reproductive, and the close correlation between the lipid composition of testicular and morphofunctional parameters such as sperm count, motility, number of live and abnormal spermatozoids forms, the results indicate the usefulness of NSE application at the early stages of development of insulin-dependent diabetes for the prevention and treatment of infertility in men.
