Subject of study - 10158 patients (mean age (59,90±0,15) years) with arterial hypertension, who live in 62 towns. Aim of study: based on evaluation of the quality of diagnosis and treatment of patients with arterial hypertension in different patient population (town, village, organized and unorganized population) to develop and implement the recommendations on improving of the diagnostic and treatment quality in health care system. Methods of study: all patients were done office blood pressure (BP) measurement, ECG, evaluation of serum levels of total cholesterol, creatinine, glucose, patient's compliance before and after three months of treatment by Ukrainian generic company antihypertensive drugs. Results: based on evaluation of the quality of diagnosis and treatment of patients with arterial hypertension in different patient population there were developed and implemented the recommendations - Program "MEKAT - possibility of effective blood pressure control by combinative treatment of Ukrainian producer". Recommendations on implementation of the study results - before antihypertensive drug administration it is necessary to evaluate the patient's compliance by questionnaire. Patients with low compliance need providing of the additional arrangements in increasing of patient's compliance and antihypertensive therapy efficacy. Patients with high compliance need to be paid attention to life style modification, patients with low or moderate compliance - need effective therapy (enough doses, more using of fixed combinations, minimization of adverse reactions) and treatment of concomitant diseases. Developed recommendations implemented in health care system for diagnostic and treatment improvement of the hypertensive patients in cities and villages of Ukraine. During the last 4 years the hypertensive patient life expectancy increased.
