Aim of the study: a study of iodine intake indices in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus after prescription of ''Iodis-kontsentrat'' water in the presence of an increased iodine intake; determination of blood glucose concentration, glycosylated hemoglobin, postprandial glycemia taking into consideration the dose of insulin used for diabetes mellitus compensation.Results:it has been established that type 1 diabetes mellitus course in children was associated with an insufficient iodine intake and presenct of a diffuse goiter in 10 -11% of subjects under studi. Prescription of ''Iodis-kontsentrat'' water at a dose of 100 mcg/ 24 h to children and 150 mcg/ 24 h to abolescents nomalizes their iodine intake indices. Use of ''Iodis-kontsentrat'' water for one month did not lead to any effect of iodine status compensation on diabetes course.
