The goal of work lies in determining the ways of the increasing of reability and operating benefits for these networks. Experimental methods to evaluate power quality indices, mathematical statistics methods, power quality analyzer Fluke 435 were used. Causes of power quality degradation in urban networks were indentified, current spectra of different electrical loads were estimated, and modified active filter scheme for harmonic suppresion and technique for remote location of line-to-ground fault plase in the insulated neutral network were developed.
