Ex Steud) in the Danube Delta are the main factor, which is forming the environment and in particular they are carrying out the barrier function on the way of inflow of dissolved organic, mineral substances and flood of solid matter from all over drainage basin, are forming the background landscape of a wetland, are supporting the rich biodiversity of the delta, are carrying out the most important function of biofiltration. The use of reed resources on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (DBR) is the traditional and very important kind of nature use for the region. There were implemented the researches on the definition of reed stocks on the territory of the DBR and there were elaborated the recommendations on sustainable use of renewable resource of reed on the nature protected territory. For the first time it was obtained the integral conception on the influence of winter reed harvesting on the condition of reed-bed ecosystems, it was determined the role and established the significance of leading ecological factors in its development. For the first time it was discovered the directions and tendencies of successions of reed-bed vegetation and it was established the prognosis of its probable changes under the various regimes of management. It was elaborated the strategy, regime of protection and directions of management of reed-bed ecosystems with the aim of conservation and optimization of vegetative coverage of the DBR and realization of the strategy of sustainable use of natural resources. The basic practical proposals of the work were realized in the scientific grounds on the obtaining of the limits on use of natural recourses in the different zones of the reserve and in the Project of organization of the territory of the DBR. The practical recommendations are using in the complex management of the reserve zones of various regime of protection and in the realization of the practical reed harvesting in the reed-bed ecosystems. The results of the researches could be used by the nature protection organizations of the other regions of Ukraine with the wetland type of the vegetation. During the work it was made more than 300 descriptions of vegetation and 250 research cuts from 1 sq. m, it was measured 2615 of plants, from which it was gathered 7270 morphometric indexes.
