On the modern stage of socio-economic development of regions of Ukraine and Kirovograd region in particular there is deep disparity between a requirement in the speed-up economy growing and possibilities of his achievement, taking into account worsening of quantitative-quality descriptions of labour potential. The problems of destruction of labour potential accumulated and became sharp by reason of low standard of living, unemployments, unadaptation of people and productions to the effective functioning in market conditions, prevalence of disparity of trade education the necessities of economy, worsening of the state of health, and others like that. On such conditions there is an objective requirement in the socio-economic estimation of the state of labour potential, in every separate region and in a country on the whole, determination of directions of his maintainance and development The purpose of research work is development of directions of maintainance and development of labour potential of region. For realization of such purpose the followings tasks were put: on the basis of analysis of scientific sources to probe theoretical bases of evaluation of labour potential, define the factors of influence on the state, forming and development of labour potential, to analyse the state of labour potential of the Kirovograd region, to ground importance of mediko-demographic component estimation of labour potential, offer to recommendation managers in relation to directions of maintainance and development of labour potential.
