Methods of investigations: method of experimental physics based on special hydrogen-vacuum apparatuses; method of computer frame-accurate analysis of video recording structural changes on the surface of palladium alloys; methods of mechanical tests and electrical resistance measures; methods of structural-kinetic analysis; informetrical and analytical forecast methods. There is fulfilled informetrical and analytical forecast investigation of the interrelated development of the world hydrogen economy and hydrogen material science (hydrogen treatment of materials). Fundamental physical laws and mechanisms of phase and structural transformations in the objects under investigation are established in the conditions of shock and slow hydrogen action. For the first time there was discovered soliton-like swelling arising and moving on the surface of the objects under investigation. This new phenomenon was firstly established in the world science in this work. It was observed and studied with the use of video recording, and computer frame-accurate research. Scientific analysis of a new phenomenon is fulfilled from the viewpoint of nowadays knowledge of solitons.
