PURPOSE OF WORK: find out the dependence of activity of key enzymes of carbohydrates' (Lactate dehydrogenase - LDH and Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase - G6PDH) and nucleotides' (Adenosine deaminase - ADA and Thymidine phosphorylase - TP) metabolisms from the character (benign or malignant) of proliferation disturbance in a mammary glands. RESULTS: It was well-proven change of activity of the studied enzymes in gland tissues of mammary gland at proliferation disturbance processes. Thus, the strength and direction of the described changes of metabolism depend on character of proliferation - a benign (the fibroadenoma - FA) or malignant (adenocarcinoma - AK) tumour. Any disturbance of proliferation in the mammary gland are accompanied with the increase of LDH activity and changes of pentose-phosphate pathway speed. In the AK cases the LDH activity was more than in 2 times, and G6PDH activity - on 43 % higher than in patients with FA. Notably, that in cases of AK a correlation of LDH activity in the blood serum and in the surrounding tissues is high than with the enzyme activity in the tumour node. This fact testifies that the activation of glycolysis at breast cancer takes place not only in malignant tissues but also in all organism. NOVELTY: the new results testify to the considerably greater role of enzymes of the glycolysis and the pentose-phosphate pathway in tumor growth pathogeny.
