During 9 months 2010 metal-roll import in Ukraine is 1.04 mil tones, at that most of all was imported tubular billet (356 mil tones), hot-rolled sheets (204 mil tones), galvanized sheets (126 mil tones). Machine-building enterprises of Ukraine purchased about 170 mil tones of metal-roll according direct contracts. Maximum of direct supplies fell on hot-rolled sheets (56.3 mil tones), round roll from quality and alloy steel (22.2 mil tones), railway car stand profile (11.8 mil tones) and zee beam (11.3 mil tones). Almost half of imported metal-roll was manufactured and could be manufactured by native roll mills in adequate quantity. This is hot-rolled sheet, railway car stand profile, zee beam, Larssen piles, almost all profile range of round roll and other. Its import is related with several factors, main one of these factors is high price of native steel because of high prime cost. Problem solution of import reduction for metal-roll in Ukraine consists of two parts - production mastering of grade and profile range that not manufacture in Ukraine, and creation of conditions for possibility of stable purchase of Ukrainian manufacture metal-roll instead of imported analogue range.
