Target of research - to develop ecosystem (biotope) classification of forest and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine; to unify it with EUNIS pan-European classification; to prepare sixth volume of "Ecoflora of Ukraine", to analyze families of Polemoniales-Lamiales orders. Methods of research - field phytocoenological methods, methods of coenotic profile setting up, synphytoindication, cluster analysis, arranging of phytocoenotic units. The different scientific approaches to ecosystem classification (CОRINE, Palearctic, EUNIS) have been reviewed. The "ecosystem", "biogeocoenos", "habitat", "ecotope", "biotope" terms have been revised. It have been found, that the main unit of topological classification is ecotope, which may appear as biotope, litotope, hydrotope or technotope depending on energy transformation and functioning manner. The hierarchical subordination serial biotope classification has been elaborated, which corresponds with common European principles, the names of ecotaxonomical categories have been proposed. The biotope classification of forest and forest-steppe zone of Ukraine has been created, which includes 7 ecocoens, 26 morphocoens, 35 edaphocoens, 88 dominacoens, (87 geocoens), the examples of their characteristics have been given. The 24 rare biotopes of Kyiv and schematic maps of their allocation have been presented. On the base of authorial method of phytoindication and use of ordination and cluster analysis, the biotope and their comparison according to 8 ecological factors has been made. The obtained tree diagram has been analyzed according to "bifurcation cascade" by Feigenbaum, which illustrate the degree of sustainability of different types of ecosystems. In the latest volume of orginal edition of "Ecoflora of Ukraine" the species of such families as Limoniaceae, Paeoniaceae, Сlusiaceae, Elatinaceae, Violaceae, Cistaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Primulaceae, Thymelaeaceae, Tiliaceae, Malvaceae, Ericaceae, Pyrolaceae, Monotropaceae, Empetraceae, which occur in natural environment in Ukraine, are characterized. Their biomorphological features, geographical and phytocoenological characteristics, ecological peculiarities, consortium relations, human influence, their economic, landscape and indicative significance are described as well as conservation and restoration approaches. Information about species includes also their pictures and distribution maps within Ukraine, references. On the base of synphytoindication method the econiche assessment of genus species Euphrasia, Galeopsis, Veronica and characteristics of six species from the Red Book of Ukraine has been given. On the base of quantitative research of climatic factors meaning of the plant species of Ukraine their geographic organization trend has been established. The "target phenomenon" has been formulated, that reflects the geographic structure of the flora from the position of econiche packing. The results of scientific research are very important for integrative process and joining to European standards such as ecosystem classification and rare biotopes selection. The obtained results would be used for preparing of Red and Green Books of Ukraine. CLASSIFICATION, ECOSYSTEM, BIOTOPE, ECOTOPE, SYNPHYTOINDICATION, ECOFLORA, COMPARING ANALYSIS, ECOLOGICAL FACTORS.
