Based on the mathematical analysis of events in cell populations under various conditions the significant parameters and components for biological system of cultured cells were determined and the relationships between them were defined thus allowing the theoretical substantiation of biotechnological methods for improving their productivity. The basis for cell biotechnology of Ungernia victoris and some Gentiana species have been developed. There was obtained tissue culture cell line of Echium plantagineum, highly productive strain-producer of shikonin. Via bacterial test-systems it was demonstrated the interaction between the plant extracts and the proteins of outer cell wall and the possibility of penetration inside the cell resulting in changes within the bacterial cell metabolism.
