It is established that the CNC machining process must be controlled by a priory information using mathematical model of process which is obtained from a CAM system. The CAM system generates NC file during solving one-criterion optimization task at every step of modeling. A mathematical support for CAM system is developed. It consists of the following models: a model for force characteristics of machining process, stochastic compositional models for modeling the formation of a surface roughness during machining, a model for tool deterioration in variable cutting conditions. It is proved that the dependence of a rough machining efficiency from depth of cutting is of extremal type. The algorithm for computer-aided search of extremum by a cutting depth depending from work material, cutting tool, machine parameters is proposed. The CAM system unit for controlling the process of turning stepped shafts is developed. There is no necessity for engineer to specify the cutting parameters and parameters for choosing the tool path. The unit determines cutting speed and feed, that provide minimal possible machining time and generates NC program for CNC machine. Product Description popup.authors Афшар К. Клавак А.М.
