The purpose of the work is the evolution of scientific bases of the development of functional Fe-C alloy with high impact-abrasive wear resistance in corrosion-active aqueous solutions of acids, salts and alkalis. Method of research: micro-structural, electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction; hardness, wear resistance, corrosion tests; mathematical planning of the ex-periment, the method of mathematical statistics and regression processing of results. The ranking of wide range of carbon and alloy steels and cast irons by their wear resistance in aqueous solutions of salts, acids, alkali of pH 1-14 is completed. It was established that the decisive influence on the resistance of the impact-abrasive-corrosive wear resistance has a mi-crostructure, but not the chemical composition of alloys. It is shown that the most effective is the low-alloy steels with the structure of "75 % austenite and 25% martensite", in which the austen-ite is partially transforms into martensite during the wear. The mechanisms of fracture surface of alloys at impact-abrasive-corrosive wear are identi-fied and classified. The influence of mechano-chemical reactions and tribo-corrosive synergism on alloys' wear is analyzed. The rational-valued degree of martensitic transformation under de-formation in steels with different carbon content is determined. The practicability of the use of copper as an alloying agent for improving of performance in corrosive environments is shown. The economically alloyed steels 115ХГ2С1Ю, 75ХГ2С1ЮД1, 75Г2С with increased wear resistance are developed. Steel 75Г2СS is imple-mented into production at Azovstal Steel Works. The use of this steel ensured a decrease of 12-22% of grinding balls' expense during wet grinding of iron ore.
