Air feeding channels were improved that resulted in outcome performance of the battery stack equal to 5 W at 600 °C fueled with LPG. By means of EB-PVD method a dense and thin electrolyte layer of ceria and scandia stabilized zirconia was deposited on porous anode substrates. The leakage test results by helium is as follows - 9,38·10-5 mbar·l/s·cm2. These results indicate about possibility to use the half-cells for fabrication of complete cells. Measurements of area specific resistance of single fuel cells with electrolyte deposited by EB-PVD showed its value is equal to 0,65-0,70 ohm сm2 at 600 оС which is low enough for long term use. Fine structure of ceramic fuel cells was studied. By means of high resolution transmission electron microscopy the interface surface between NiO-ZrO2 and EB-PVD deposited ScCeZr electrolyte was studied. It was found out that in a contact plane of these two components there are no cracks or transition phases. These results confirm high adhesion of an electrolyte film to an anode substrate. It was noticed that after the calcinations process in a column structure of the electrolyte film pores are formed. It explains high conductivity of EB-PVD deposited electrolyte films.
