Qualitative and quantitative features of the interactions between europium complexes and biological macromolecules or their assemblies (DNA, proteins, model lipid and protein-lipid membranes) have been be defined It has been demonstrated that europium complexes can be coencapsulated into liposomes together with another antineoplastic agent, doxorubicin and squaraine dyes. New techniques for preparation of liposomal formulations of lanthanides have been elaborated.
