Methods of research - the analysis of literature and our own data using methods of mathematical apparatus, modern computer methods. Authors in their studies carried out numerical experiments on models of shells of positive curvature, simply supported along the contour. Load beginning of plastic deformation and cracking in the geometrically linear and nonlinear formulations were defined. The results of the calculations showed that in a geometrically linear formulation the load beginning of plastic deformations and cracking are more than 60% than in the geometrically nonlinear formulation, for small curvatures. With increasing curvature parameter the ratio is increases. The investigative results can be used in: the design of thin-walled concrete structures, concrete slabs, that are working in aggressive environment, in determining the residual life of the exploited nonlinearly deformable concrete structures in order to predict their future normal operation. Predicted conditions for the further development of the object of investigaton - creating of recommendations in a selected area of studies will enable to increase the life of a nonlinear deformable concrete structures.
