The aim of investigation - to develop the methodology and effective technologies of the remote diagnostic of Ukrainian soil cover condition for monitoring and mapping. The methods of investigation are remote sensing methods, multispectral space scanning, geoinformation technologies, analytic researches, computer programming and mathematical and statistical analyses. Theoretical and practical results - methodological principles of soil cover monitoring by remote sensing methods on the base of geoinformation systems, project of Land Information System for observation monitoring and land user necessity, digital soil maps. Novelty - fundamentally new methodological approaches to estimation of soil cover condition on the base of modern technologies. The efficiency of application - the elaboration gives possibility to decrease the labour-intensiveness and the prime cost of soil mapping in 2-3 times and to increase the self-descriptiveness of soil maps in 5 times.
