Methods of the research: searching-analytical, optical, ontogenetical. Results of the work: the information sources on the methods and results of synthetic diamonds identification were analysed, the prior identifications of the synthetic diamond samples were conducted, and the possibility of creating of the natural diamonds identification effective technique (natural/synthetic) in faceted jewellery items was appreciated.
