The aim of the work is the grounding of the pricing guide level forming order on coloured gemstones of the I-IV groups published quarterly by the State Gemmological Centre of Ukraine (SGCU) in the bulletin "Pricing guide on precious and decorative stones" (bulletin) and applied with the purpose of the coloured gemstones cost determination in accordance with the requirements of the operating normative and legal acts. The methods of the research are economic and mathematical statistics. The recommendations on the pricing guide level forming order on coloured gemstones of the I-IV groups are drawn up; methodical approach to the coloured gemstones expert estimation is grounded; the rules of the monitoring of the coloured gemstones prices on the world market are laid down; the composition and pattern of coloured gemstones prices are investigated; the most important high-quality descriptions and economic factors which influence on the coloured gemstones cost are selected; the order of estimation of the coloured gemstones cost is improved. The level of introduction: the results of the work will be introduced in the SGCU expert activity and applied at the calculation of the coloured gemstones price level for publication in the bulletin. The interrelationship with other works: the conducted researches are based on the SGCU previous developments: ТУ У 36.2-21587162.002-2009 "Emeralds, rubies, blue sapphires, alexandrites" and ТУ У 36.2-21587162.003:2009 "Precious stones (I-IV groups)". The field of application and prognosis suppositions: the researches results will be applied for coloured gemstones imported to Ukraine and consumable on the Ukraine internal market.
