Research goal - development new high-efficient nondestructive express-methods of estimation and quantitative analysis, in real working environment, of operational damages and defects of steels used at pipelines, by sequence of grayscale images in optical light. Research methods - structural and statistical images elements and materials surface parameters analysis. Research results are used by institute departments during research of materials microstructure and fractures. 1) Express-method of estimation and quantitative analysis, in real working environment, of operational damages and defects of steels used at pipelines is developed. The method uses 3D reconstruction for obtaining information about material surface and defects of it. This allows better accuracy of defects parameters estimation and quality of pipes functionality and resource prediction to be obtained. 2) New mathematical models that describe difference function and level of its smoothness by a mixture of exponential and uniform distributions are developed. Using the models improves precision of difference function determination and precision of 3D reconstruction. A method, based on the proposed models, which allows automatic determination of matching parameters, is developed. 3) Methods of quantitative analysis of surface profile described by nonregular points cloud after 3D reconstruction are developed. 2D analysis is performed according to GOST 2789 and EN ISO 13565-2:1996 standards, 3D - ISO 25178. For surface parameters determination during 3D analysis, a method that takes into account surface topology and calculates its parameters without converting it to regular grid is developed.
