The goal of work is development of highly effective control methods of crystallization and structure formation of nodular graphite ductile cast iron which provide required castings mechanical and working properties and energy saving. Research methods are thermodynamical, metallographic, structure-phase analysis, mechanical testing, mathematical results processing. Influence of late graphitizing modifying on processes of structure formation of nodular graphite ductile cast iron in thin-walled castings at speeds of cooling 0,87-10,5 degree/sec is investigated. Are defined parameters allowing to estimate the degree of modifying elements influence on phase structure and structure parameters of iron castings. Graphitizing and inoculating in-mould modifying of ductile cast iron raises efficiency of modifiers action in 2,0-2,8 times. Comparing with ladle modifying application of in-mould modifying allows to raise cast iron plasticity in 1,5-2,0 times, to reduce the expense of modifiers in 2,5 times, to eliminate power-intensive thermal treatment, to improve ecology of process.
