The extension of genetic variability in oilseed crops using biotechnology in vitro popup.stage_title Head Soroka A.I., Доктор сільськогосподарських наук Registration Date 23-02-2011 Organization Institute of Oilseed Crops popup.description2 For the first time using agronomically important material of sunflower essential influence of a chemical mutagene ethylmethanesulphonate was established at treatment of 9-10 and 14-15-day-old unripe embryos on surviving of the embryos, quantitative characteristics of М1 generation plants, a spectrum and mutation rate in М2 and М3, and inheritance of new mutant traits was studied. Mutagene treatment of unripe sunflower embryos led to appearance of a wide spectrum and a high mutation rate. In total in М2 and М3 there were revealed 33 types of mutations. The difference in a spectrum of morphological variations was noted at treatment of embryos of different age. The mutation rate did not depend significantly on age of embryos and was genotype specific and amounted in М2 generation to about 45% for ZL-95 line and to about 15% for ZL-809 line. It was established that traits of dichotomous venation and orbiculate leaf were recessive, genes in control for them localized in different chromosomes and inherited as monogenic traits. It was revealed that the trait of chlorophyll deficiency was recessive and inherited as a monogenic trait. Independent inheritance of the recessive traits "chlorophyll deficiency" and "leaf venation type" was shown. With rape accessions, originating from the Institute of Oilseed Crops, genotypes with positive response to in vitro anther culture were revealed, and nutrient media which reduce formation of the cell mass from sporophytic tissues and increase formation of haploid structures were selected. The differences were established between haploid and doubled haploid winter rape plants for flower morphology.
