P. Beauv. ex J. S et K. B. Pres and Euagropyrum Nevski. Aim of research is to select, according to results of the study of collection variety samples, genetic sources of economic charac-teristics, their inclusion into breeding process; to breed initial breeding material and on its basis - high productive varieties with the increased level of adaptive potential to unfavorable environmental conditions. Methods of research are field estimation, hybridization, polycross, selections. According to the results of the study of 102 collection variety samples of the investigated species, valuable ge-netic sources are selected by the economic characteristics including drought re-sistance. Perspective initial material for further breeding of Bromus inermis Leyss.,, Bromus riparius Rehm, Arrhenatherum elatius (L.) P. Beauv. ex J. S et K. B. Pres and Euagropyrum Nevski is obtained. Varieties of Bromus riparius Rehm - Boyan (2007) and of Agropyrum cristatum (L.) Gaertn - Petrivsky (2006) are bred and submitted for the state trial. Variety Boyan provides the yield of dry matter of 11,0-12,9, seed - 0,5-0,7 t/ha. Protein content in dry matter is 13,5-15,1 and cellulose - 26,5-28,2 %. It is drought resistant. It is suitable for pasture use and fastening of slopes, dams and autobahns. It is registered in the State Register of the Plant Varieties of Ukraine for 2009 and recommended for cultivation in the zones of Polissya, Forest-Steppe and Steppe. Variety Petrivsky provides yield of dry matter of 9,0-11,0 and seed - 0,5-0,6 t/ha. Protein content in dry matter is - 14-15 and cellulose - 25-26%. It is drought resistant. It is reg-istered in the State Register of the Plant Varieties of Ukraine for 2008 and rec-ommended for cultivation in Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones.
