Aim of research is to gather, form collection, maintain gene pool and make a catalogue of the genetic resources of fodder crops of Ukraine. Methods of research are expeditionary gatherings, field - to estimate the variety samples and laboratory - to determine chemical composition. Gathering, study, formation to supply initial material for breeding is carried out as well as maintenance of the gene pool and making the catalogue of genetic resources of fodder crops of Ukraine. The sources of morpho-biological, economic and other characteristics in order to form initial material for breeding are determined. Certification is car-ried out and the database of the gene pool of fodder crops is made. Seed of the collection samples for the renovation of viability and keeping it in the National Depository of the Institute of Plant Cultivation named after V.Y.Yuryev of the NAAS that coordinates such researches is grown. Total amount of collection is 900 variety samples of the annual and perennial cereal and leguminous fodder crops.
