Aim of research is carry out genetic-breeding estimation of the initial material of hexaploid sample varieties of winter triticale, to get perspective breeding material and on its basis breed high productive varieties of the forage type. Methods of research are hybridization, hybridological analysis, selections. According to results of hybridological analysis and estimation of the combination ability, peculiarities of the inheri-tance are determined and donors of the features of the increased grain productivity are selected. High productive hybrid populations are obtained and perspective breeding numbers are selected from them. According to results of the competitive variety trial, varieties Polyanske (2006) and Polovetske (2008) are submitted for the state trial. Variety Polyanske belongs to grain-forage type. Its grain yield is 7,2-7,5 t/ha, protein content in grain - 13,5-14,0 %. It is resistant to diseases and frosts. It is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine for 2009 and recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones. Variety Polovetske belongs to grain-forage type. Its grain yield is 8,0-8,5 t/ha, protein content in grain - 12,5-13,0 %. It is resistant to diseases and frosts. It is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine for 2009 and recommended for cultivation in the zones of Polissya and Forest-Steppe.
